James Thomsen - CEO

James Thomsen is a founding partner of Daniel James, LLC, providing effective Business Management and Marketing solutions designed to enhance and grow your business.

Jim is an enterprise leader with years of executive management and board experience. As the operating President at Thrivent Financial, a privately held Fortune 500 organization, Mr. Thomsen provided strategic and operational leadership for multiple Thrivent subsidiaries within the asset-management, healthcare, banking, insurance, and trust domains. With over 30 years of P&L experience, Mr. Thomsen has led transformational strategy development and execution for existing businesses and has helped launch new ventures. He is known for identifying an organization's strategic "sweet spot" and he has an eye for what is most important to develop a winning strategy for sustainable growth. Mr. Thomsen holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Luther College and is a graduate of Harvard Business School's Advanced Management Program.

Dan Malina - Chairman

Dan Malina is a founding partner of Daniel James, LLC, providing effective Business Management and Marketing solutions designed to enhance and grow your business.

Mr. Malina has 35+ years of corporate strategy experience and previously served as an executive advisor to TH Lee Partners. He also enjoyed a 20 year career as SVP of Strategy and Corporate Development at General Mills (GMI).

Mr. Malina is known for fostering cultures that promote growth and vitality by making focused strategic decisions, then putting the right people, plans, and processes in place to drive success. Dan holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and an MBA from Loyola University in Chicago.

Mike Quaid - President

Mike Quaid brings a wealth of experience and a diverse background well suited to evaluating transactions, working with business owners, and managing growth. Mr. Quaid was the CEO of a consumer goods company from January 2020 to May of 2021.

Prior to this, he was co-owner and Managing Director of Typhoon FX trading platforms, which were sold in September 2018. Previously, Mike was an executive at SG Warburg Investment Bank and a Partner at KCCO II, a Chicago-based hedge fund. Mr. Quaid began his career as an auditor for Arthur Young & Company and later held various financial engineering roles for Sam Zell’s Itel Corporation before beginning his trading career. Mike is a 1984 graduate of Millikin University with a degree in accounting and a 1991 graduate of the Kellogg School of Business, Northwestern University, where he earned his MBA with an emphasis in Finance and Marketing. Mike Quaid teaches Finance part time at Arizona State University.

Veera Nallam - CTO

Veera Nallam is a successful entrepreneur and AI and Data Analytics expert with a dedicated 20-plus-year career in the IT industry. He is the founder and CEO of Xtendlabs and Bimbasree Solutions and worked as a Principal Data Scientist and Data Solution Architect in fortune 100 companies. He has a proven track record of delivering and implementing AI and Machine Learning and Data Analytics solutions to solve challenging business problems across healthcare, financial services, payment cards, telecommunications, government, retail, and high-technology sectors. His education includes a Ph.D. from Capitol Technology University with a specialty in management and decision sciences, an MBA from the University of Texas, a Master's in Computer Applications, and a graduate of Big Data Analytics from Harvard University.

Todd Pannek - Purchasing Consultant

Todd has over 30 years of experience leading global strategic sourcing teams and developing and implementing technology solutions. He has spent more than 25 years driving transformational change at General Mills, Inc. across many leadership roles in their Global Sourcing organization and earlier in IT.

Todd has significant experience serving on advisory boards with both for-profit and non-profit organizations. In addition, Todd spent several years working in Supply Chain consulting with KPMG, and with a PE-funded tech start-up company.

Giang Thi Hoang - VP of International Relations

Ms. Hoang was most recently the Chief Operating Officer at a large consumer goods company. “Thi Thi”, was instrumental in building the startup to over $50 million in revenue and an employee ramp from 15 to over 120 employees in less than nine months. She has overseen all phases of manufacturing, logistics, warehousing, shipping, and e-commerce. She was a Marketing and Public Relations Executive during a 14-year career at Vietnam Eximbank and a CEO’s direct report. Thi Thi has worked with hundreds of import/export companies, government agencies, and marketing associations. She is the initial founder and largest investor to date. She has a B.S. from the University of Ho Chi Minh City. Recently, Thi Thi engaged the initial Tech Team of Vietnam to build out the first phase of our Zimmi Platform.

Russell Wong - VP of Business Development

Russell brings over 30 years of entrepreneurial experience to the Zimmi Team.

In the 1990's, Russell founded two businesses that successfully launched, one in the casino equipment business and the other was a purchasing software and e-commerce company. The purchasing software is still used by hotels and casinos.

In 2003, Russell founded Xyience and built it into a $50 million a year business selling sports supplements and energy drinks to over 50,000 stores in the United States and Canada. He has contributed to the success of other companies since then, and is a big asset to Zimmi.

Tony Chau - Director of Marketing

Tony Chau is a noted expert, consultant, and thought leader in digital marketing. Tony has more than 20 years of experience in a wide range of digital marketing categories. His expertise spans across areas of viral marketing, search engine marketing, email marketing, social marketing, affiliate marketing, content marketing, mobile marketing, among others. Tony is the creator of his comprehensive digital marketing course where he teaches his marketing strategies to aspiring online entrepreneurs and marketers around the world. His thought leadership in digital marketing has helped launch a number of startup companies to various successes, including IPO.
